About The Position

BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher in Farmington, Connecticut. The Lead Teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home experience for children, following NAEYC guidelines. The role is responsible for children in one assigned classroom and serves children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. The advertised pay range is $18.00–$20.50 per hour. The position has no evening or weekend work.

Requirements

• An associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Head Teacher certification, 12 credits in Early Childhood Education courses, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of experience in a licensed child care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks–12 years in one assigned classroom.
• Create developmentally appropriate curriculum according to NAEYC standards.
• Develop programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that allows children to grow and explore.
• Partner with families to create plans for their children’s care and education.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
