About The Position
The Child Care Cook, also referred to as a Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the school’s enrolled children. The role requires adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The Food Specialist creates home-style, nutritious meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and in accordance with state and federal requirements. They prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, distribute food to classrooms, follow the daily menu provided by the Director and applicable USDA, licensing, and health department regulations, and maintain food and supply inventory and place orders as needed. The role may also assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater. Learning Care Group describes its childcare programs as serving children from 6 weeks to 12 years and emphasizes research-based curricula, safe and nurturing environments, and child development.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility with work hours and schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
