About The Position

At Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital / Saint Francis Hospital, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric unit provides age-appropriate, compassionate, and effective inpatient care to patients aged 5 to 17 with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions. Conditions include, but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, and ADHD.

The nurse performs comprehensive mental health assessments and ongoing evaluations, administers medications and monitors therapeutic effects and side effects, and supports de-escalation and crisis intervention using trauma-informed care principles. The nurse collaborates with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and families to implement individualized care plans.

The position is full time, 36 hours per week, on a 12-hour day shift, with every other weekend and holiday scheduled.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• One or more years of Child/Adolescent Psych experience in an acute inpatient setting.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
