About The Position

The Chief Procurement Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with organizational goals, optimizing cost, quality, and service. This role involves leading strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating complex contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The CPO will also monitor market trends, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and prepare procurement reports to measure effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Seven or more (7+) years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience negotiating complex supplier contracts and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, strategic sourcing, and supply chain principles.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, sound business judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and business management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support organizational goals and optimize cost, quality, and service.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier evaluations, competitive bidding, contract negotiations, and vendor selection.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements to maximize value and minimize organizational risk.
  • Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to forecast purchasing needs and ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks to identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain supply continuity.
  • Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and procurement procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support operational excellence.
  • Prepare and analyze procurement reports, budgets, and key performance indicators to measure purchasing effectiveness.
