Chief of Staff Director

Nerdio
•$180,000 - $215,000

About The Position

Nerdio is hiring a Chief of Staff to partner closely with its President and Co-Founder and lead the operating rhythm for the entire Go-To-Market (GTM) organization. The role turns strategy into focused priorities, scalable processes, and measurable results, with significant accountability and visibility. It is a core member of the GTM Leadership Team and works across GTM leadership, Revenue Operations, Finance, HR, and IT to improve execution and remove friction across the customer journey. The Chief of Staff owns GTM operating cadence, planning, executive reporting, strategic initiative execution, and follow-through on commitments. The role also prepares the President for customer, partner, and executive engagements, provides decision support and business insights, and helps prioritize the President’s time and attention. It may represent the President in some forums and requires discretion with confidential strategy, people, and performance information. Some travel is required to accompany the President to customer and partner engagements. This is a demanding, high-impact position requiring exceptional commitment, flexibility, and responsiveness to changing priorities. The schedule will often follow the President’s, and the posting says the hours are long and the person is expected to be available when the President is working and even when he is not. Nerdio will calibrate the level as Director or Senior Director based on the candidate’s experience and scope.

Requirements

  • Typically 5 to 7 years of experience for candidates earlier in their career, with exceptional rigor, executive presence, and a track record of outperformance; the posting also welcomes demonstrated potential over having performed every part of the role already.
  • Experience engaging directly with senior executives as a Chief of Staff, Business Manager, similar internal partner, or advisor to executive clients or portfolio company leadership, including managing executive priorities and follow-through.
  • Availability when the President is working and even when he is not; the role requires making Nerdio a priority.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and adapt quickly to changing executive and business priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead GTM planning, operating cadence, executive reporting, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional execution at scale.
  • Track record of running disciplined operating rhythms and holding senior leaders accountable for commitments and follow-through.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to prepare for and advise in customer and partner meetings, synthesizing complex context into a clear point of view.
  • Strong analytical judgment and business acumen, including the ability to turn data into insights, recommendations, and executive-level decisions.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders across GTM, Finance, HR, Product, IT, and Revenue Operations.
  • Ability to build trust, influence without direct authority, and drive alignment across teams, priorities, and time zones.
  • Exceptional commitment, flexibility, and responsiveness to evolving priorities; the role has long hours and a schedule that often follows the President’s.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness in handling confidential strategy, people, and performance information.

Responsibilities

  • Own the rhythm of the business for the GTM organization, including leadership meetings, MBR/QBRs, annual operating plan cycles, executive business reviews, and other internal meetings.
  • Lead GTM planning, strategic initiative execution, and follow-through and accountability for leadership commitments.
  • Set agendas, prepare materials, run internal GTM meetings and operating sessions, capture decisions and actions, and ensure follow-through.
  • Prepare the President for customer, partner, and executive engagements by synthesizing account and pipeline context, framing asks and risks, advising before and after engagements, and tracking commitments.
  • Accompany the President to some customer and partner engagements; travel is required.
  • Provide business insights, sales operating expense and budget partnership, and decision support to GTM leadership.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Revenue Operations, IT, and other teams to optimize GTM operating cadence, resourcing, performance, communication, and coordination.
  • Maintain visibility into pipeline health, sales execution, and partner sales contribution; identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and translate insights into recommendations and accountability.
  • Partner with GTM leadership to establish KPIs, report on performance, and provide insights for executive decisions.
  • Coordinate with Business Systems and IT on the GTM technology roadmap and champion AI and automation pilots led by those functions.
  • Improve GTM processes and systems, including AI-enabled improvements that increase productivity, focus, speed, accountability, forecasting, and customer journey visibility.
  • Filter and prioritize what reaches the President, help manage executive time and focus, and track all of the President’s follow-ups and actions.
  • Build trust with GTM leadership, influence without direct authority, and drive cross-functional alignment and execution.
  • Operate with discretion and trust when handling confidential strategy, personnel, and performance information.
  • Model Nerdio’s values by prioritizing customer and people outcomes, moving fast, owning outcomes, and supporting curiosity, experimentation, and a positive team culture.
