About The Position

Keville Enterprises Inc., an established Construction Management Consulting & Inspection firm, is seeking a full-time Chief inspector I to join our team in Rocky Hill, CT. If you have experience in inspecting, testing, or managing construction projects and a passion for delivering high-quality results, we encourage you to apply! Requirements

  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, materials
  • Strong communication skills
  • Documentation control
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Ability to perform quantity takeoffs/calculations
  • A NICET HCI Level 4, PE, CCM, or EIT
  • 5 years of general construction experience
  • 4 years' experience in Field Inspection
  • 2 years' experience in a Supervisory position
  • Fully proficient in the use of computers including MS Word, Excel and construction reporting/quantity tracking software
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Eager to learn
  • Willing to perform a variety of tasks
  • Team player
  • Current, valid US State driver's license and satisfactory driving record (for driving duties)
  • OSHA 10 certification

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily construction operations
  • Ensuring contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and contractual requirements
  • Managing inspection staff
  • Reviewing and delivering daily inspection reports
  • Monitoring contractor performance, schedule adherence, and overall responsiveness
  • Working closely with contractors to maintain project goals related to cost, schedule, and quality
  • Serving as a liaison to design staff to address RFIs, review shop drawings, and assess project changes for constructability
  • Overseeing the office staff responsible for record-keeping, correspondence, and reporting
  • Managing the contractor payment process, recommending adjustments as necessary
  • Ensuring overall site safety, permit compliance, and coordination with agencies and stakeholders
  • Other oversight duties may be assigned as needed
