About The Position

CDP is a Boston-based public benefit corporation that provides outsourced marketing, data analytics, fundraising, and technology services to more than 230 NPR and PBS public media organizations. The Chief Growth Officer is a member of CDP’s Executive Team and leads the organization’s integrated growth, innovation, marketing, and business development strategy. The role focuses on helping more public media organizations and selected adjacent nonprofit markets strengthen donor relationships, improve long-term financial sustainability, and invest in services their communities rely on. The Chief Growth Officer partners with the CEO and Executive Team to set growth direction, identify priority markets and opportunities, develop a repeatable growth engine, and establish goals and performance measures. The role leads two senior leaders—the Senior Director, Business Development and the VP, Innovation & Marketing—and aligns sales, marketing, CDP Labs, and Innovation & Partnerships around measurable client value and impact. The position also provides executive engagement in strategic opportunities and partnerships, sponsors service innovation from discovery through scale, strengthens CDP’s market story, and defines effective handoffs from pursuit through delivery.

  • Experience leading an innovation or services portfolio from client discovery and validation through launch, partner management, and scale.
  • Experience setting B2B marketing direction and leading senior marketing leaders across brand, digital channels, thought leadership, conferences, content, and demand generation.
  • Deep understanding of relationship-driven B2B or institutional sales, including complex buying groups, consultative selling, strategic partnerships, and long sales cycles where trust and mission alignment matter.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including comfort with revenue targets, forecasting, margins, client acquisition cost, lifetime value, and opportunity assessment.
  • Proven experience managing senior leaders, establishing clear decision rights, and building trust across internal teams, clients, and industry partners.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presence, with the ability to create structure and systems in a growing, evolving organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated inclusive mindset, ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, critical thinking, process orientation, collaboration, willingness to learn and receive feedback, and sound judgment in a fast-paced, changing environment.
