About The Position

The Chief Engineer leads facility operations at the Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza, ensuring the hotel’s buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, life safety systems, and grounds are functional, safe, and compliant with applicable regulations. The role oversees facility inspections, preventive maintenance, and documentation for energy management and conservation programs.

The Chief Engineer also leads capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding, and licensing and permitting. The position directs daily department operations, with responsibility for guest service initiatives, product quality, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and adherence to industry standards. It also builds and retains a high-performing team through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs.

Responsibilities

• Direct the functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance of hotel buildings, mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, life safety systems, and grounds.
• Conduct facility inspections, maintain documentation for energy management and conservation programs, and oversee preventive maintenance initiatives.
