About The Position
Chief Anesthesiologist opening with OrthoVirginia’s Shrader practice in Richmond, Virginia. OrthoVirginia is the largest Orthopedic group in Virginia, employing over 140 physicians at 35 locations across the state. OrthoVirginia’s Shrader Road practice includes some of the top orthopedic doctors in Richmond, VA, as well as integrated physical therapy and an on-site office operatory. The case assignments include routine outpatient orthopedics, with a focus on expanding a new outpatient total joint program including shoulders, knees, and hips. This care team model means that we focus on everyone having a voice, while supporting, respecting, and helping to deliver care excellence.
Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- ECFMG and FLEX
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Currently licensed as a physician
Responsibilities
- Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
