CHICK-FIL-A FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The CHICK-FIL-A FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER performs cashiering duties and general food service work at Eastern Michigan University. The role includes food preparation, handling and storing ingredients, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, serving customers, resolving complaints, processing sales and payments, and keeping service areas stocked and clean. The position is full time, with a Monday–Friday schedule and varying days and hours based on business needs; evenings are required. The employer is hiring for multiple locations. No prior experience is required, and training is available. Pay is $15.00 to $16.00 per hour. Because the position is in an educational facility, there may be periods when work is not required during winter or summer breaks, which may be unpaid and treated as a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, associates may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during breaks.

Responsibilities
- Perform food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry food pans, kettles, and trays between work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Follow approved recipes and production standards to maintain food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following outlined steps of service.
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Relay relevant information to the supervisor.
- Perform sales transactions and accurately enter purchases into the cash register.
- Make change, accept declining balance cards and other approved forms of payment, and issue receipts.
- Follow standard procedures for cash refunds.
- Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring the cash drawer meets overage and shortage standards.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
