About The Position

Jeffrey A. Miller Hospitality Group is seeking part-time lead chefs to work large weekend events at its Waterloo Village venue in Stanhope, New Jersey. The company provides hospitality and off-premise catering for weddings and large events. Chefs prepare and execute planned event menus, maintain food quality and safety, coordinate with event planners, and respond flexibly to changes during events. Shifts typically last 11 hours, from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., and events usually take place Friday through Sunday. Scheduling is flexible for chefs available to work these events.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Proven experience as a chef in catering, banquet, or event settings.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
Ability to handle, prepare, and cook with pork and alcohol.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook food using established recipes and techniques while maintaining consistency and high-quality standards.
Keep the kitchen clean and organized and follow food safety and sanitation protocols.
Collaborate with event planners on event logistics, including venue setup, equipment needs, and timing.
Execute planned menus that may include hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees, and desserts; ensure dishes are attractively plated and served at appropriate temperatures.
Adapt to last-minute changes or requests during events and use problem-solving skills.
Clean stations, break down equipment, and load and unload the truck.
