About The Position

BBA Afterschool Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable Cheer/Dance Instructor to lead engaging after-school activities for elementary-aged students in Silver Spring, Maryland. The instructor will teach the basic fundamentals of cheer and dance through fun, age-appropriate activities, including cheer motions, cheers and chants, beginner dance movements, simple choreography, rhythm, coordination, timing, creative movement, and group routines. Activities should encourage teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship and must be conducted safely and be age-appropriate. The position is part-time and in person. Sessions are 1.5 hours long and take place during after-school afternoon hours; the schedule is to be confirmed and may be Monday through Friday depending on program scheduling. Pay is listed as $45 per session ($30 per hour), with the posting also stating an hourly range of $25 to $30. No lesson planning is required; curriculum and activity guidance are provided.

Nice To Haves

Cheer, dance, choreography, or related experience is preferred.
Experience working with children is a plus.
Relevant experience as a cheer or dance instructor, dancer, performer, choreographer, coach, youth activity instructor, teacher, substitute teacher, camp counselor, college student, or recent graduate.
