About The Position

BBA Afterschool Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable instructor to teach elementary-aged students the basic fundamentals of cheerleading through fun, age-appropriate activities. The instructor will lead in-person after-school sessions in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland. Sessions are 1.5 hours long, with afternoon hours to be confirmed and scheduling Monday through Friday depending on program needs. Curriculum and activity guidance are provided, and lesson planning is not required. Pay is listed as $45 per session ($30 per hour) and also as $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. Instruction covers basic cheer motions and movements, beginner cheers and chants, rhythm, timing, coordination, introductory jumps and suitable footwork, simple group routines, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship. Activities must be age-appropriate and conducted safely. Stunts and lifts should not be included unless specifically authorized and properly supervised.

Requirements

Cheer, dance, gymnastics, or related experience is preferred.
Experience working with children is a plus.
Be patient, energetic, and dependable.
Have reliable transportation to the program location.
Successfully complete required background checks.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a cheerleader or cheer instructor, dance or gymnastics instructor, coach, youth activity instructor, teacher, substitute teacher, or camp counselor.
Relevant experience as a college student or recent graduate.
