About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Charge Nurse for their Labor and Delivery department. This is a part-time position (24 hours weekly) for Weekend Only Work (WOW) shifts, specifically during the day (7am-7pm). The role is benefit-eligible and offers a sign-on bonus for experienced external applicants. The Labor and Delivery department features eight labor and delivery suites, two triage bays, two operating rooms, and two recovery bays with wireless monitoring. They support natural birthing options and average around 1,000 births annually. A minimum of 1 year of RN experience is required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• NRP certification required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
• ACLS certification required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
• S.T.A.B.L.E certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• Low Risk Neonatal Nursing RNC-LRN (National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties) required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
• One year of nursing experience required.
• Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a resource nurse for the department.
• Provide leadership to staff members in the area of patient care.
• Determine needed staffing fluctuations during shifts.
• Respond to departmental concerns.
• Address immediate staff issues.
• Coordinate patient flow.
• Provide direct patient care.
