Charge RN Labor and Delivery PT Days
About The Position
Baptist Health Floyd is seeking a Charge Nurse for their Labor and Delivery department. This is a part-time position (24 hours weekly) with day shifts (7 am-7 pm). This role is an entry-level leadership position responsible for coordinating care during designated shifts, providing leadership to staff, and ensuring direct patient care. The Charge Nurse will also manage staffing fluctuations, respond to departmental concerns, address staff issues, and coordinate patient flow. The department features eight labor and delivery suites, two triage bays, two operating rooms, and two recovery bays with wireless monitoring. They offer natural birthing options and average around 1,000 births annually.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
- One year of nursing experience required.
Nice To Haves
- NRP certification required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- ACLS certification required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- S.T.A.B.L.E certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
- Low Risk Neonatal Nursing RNC-LRN (National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties) required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
- One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
- Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.
Responsibilities
