About The Position

Dignity Health East Valley – Gilbert, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Dignity Health, is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for their Acute Rehab unit. This full-time position involves leading and supporting nursing staff in delivering high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. The role includes clinical mentorship, documentation oversight, coordination of staff assignments, and assisting the Nurse Manager with staff evaluations and identifying educational opportunities. The Charge Nurse will also educate staff on QI documentation and act as a clinical resource for medically complex patients. This role is crucial in helping individuals regain independence after injury or illness through specialized rehabilitation programs.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license.
  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
  • Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • CPR/BCLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS & CRRN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading and supporting nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care.
  • Clinical mentorship, documentation oversight, and coordination of staff assignments based on patient needs.
  • Completes routine audits to assure accurate and timely documentation in Cerner and UDS in order to meet compliance standards.
  • Assists the Nurse Manager in annual evaluations by providing feedback on clinical performance.
  • Identifies educational opportunities for the nursing staff based on clinical needs identified and verbalized by nursing staff.
  • Educates and monitors all staff regarding accurate and complete QI documentation to capture accurate burden of care.
  • Assists in QI education for licensed nursing staff.
  • Acts as key player in daily stand up clinical meeting to communicate/identify patient status.
  • Acts as a clinical resource and mentor for nurses in caring for medically complex patients in the facility.
