About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist assists with the care and preparation of surgical patients and the operating room under the direct supervision of an operating room RN. The role is responsible for assembling and setting up surgical instrumentation and equipment and using them during surgical procedures. Work is primarily routine but can change rapidly to an emergency or critical situation, requiring directed or independent decision-making depending on circumstances.

This is a 1.0 FTE position on day shifts, scheduled for five 8-hour days. Some holiday work and call are required. The position is based at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, a regional medical center in Tacoma, Washington.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or have equivalent experience.
• Active Washington State Surgical Technologist Registration is required prior to the start date.
• Health Care Provider-level CPR certification.
• Some holidays and call are required.

Nice To Haves

• National certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
• Previous experience is preferred.
