About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist Intern works as a scrub person assisting physicians and the surgical team according to prescribed standards, under the direct supervision of a Certified Surgical Technologist or trained RN Scrub. The primary goal is to provide learning opportunities and extend the student experience. The internship is 10 weeks, from May 25 through August 1, 2027. The schedule is 72 hours every two weeks (0.9 FTE), with 9-hour day shifts primarily from 6:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Actively enrolled in a Certified Surgical Technologist program and successful completion of the first year of the program.
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers, including hands-on learning, from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician and surgical team by passing instrumentation, equipment, and supplies during surgical procedures.
• Maintain aseptic integrity during surgical procedures under the direct supervision of a CST or trained RN Scrub.
