About The Position

This position is for Certified Substitute Teachers who are current, former, or retired Lincoln Public Schools (LPS) Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in education and possess a Nebraska Teaching (Initial, Standard or Professional) or State Substitute certificate. Current LPS employees retiring or changing from a benefits-eligible position to a Substitute Only position are subject to PPACA or NPERS re-employment rules and will need to wait 90 or 180 days. Communication regarding the application and hire will be via email. This position is subject to a veterans preference.

Requirements

• Must be a current, former, or retired Lincoln Public Schools Teacher.
• Hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in education.
• Possess a Nebraska Teaching (Initial, Standard or Professional) or State Substitute certificate.
