About The Position

The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC Supervisee provides and supports outpatient counseling services and care coordination for clients experiencing substance abuse. The role supports assessment, treatment planning, counseling, case management, documentation, crisis intervention, and discharge planning, while coordinating with staff to ensure appropriate treatment modalities. The counselor must not provide medical or therapeutic services outside the scope of their expertise.

Requirements

Must be a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC Supervisee.
Experience working in a team environment with individuals who suffer from substance abuse.

Nice To Haves

PHP/group experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support staff in conducting comprehensive client assessments and developing assessment-based treatment plans.
Support individual and group counseling sessions and complete required supporting documentation.
Support case management services as needed.
Document treatment progress for each client.
Use sound judgment when proposing changes to client treatment plans.
Coordinate closely with other staff to ensure treatment modalities are appropriate.
Provide crisis intervention as needed.
Support staff in developing and implementing individual client discharge plans.
Maintain high-quality case documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with program policies and licensure requirements.
Notify the supervisor of significant client medical complaints, unusual events, accidents, medical problems, property damage, or maintenance concerns.
