About The Position

This role is responsible for cleaning, processing, and sterilizing surgical instruments, equipment, and containers. The technician will operate sterilization machinery, inspect instruments for cleanliness and function, assemble instrument sets, and maintain inventory levels. Additionally, the role involves maintaining documentation for sterilization systems and quality assurance, adhering to organizational protocols and regulatory standards, and promoting core organizational values to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Requirements

Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare SterileProcessing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Clean, process, and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and containers following IFUs, AAMI standards, and infection control protocols while operating sterilization machinery.
Inspect instruments and sets for cleanliness, integrity, and proper function to identify repair needs, conduct peer quality audits, and ensure rigorous microbiological control.
Assemble and validate complete instrument sets using count sheets and tracking systems, maintaining inventory levels to support case cart preparation.
Maintain thorough documentation for sterilization systems and quality assurance while adhering to established organizational protocols and regulatory standards.
Promote core organizational values including reverence, integrity, stewardship, and dedicated service to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
