About The Position

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is hiring a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for a third-shift night position. The technician supports patient safety and surgical care by ensuring instruments and supplies are clean, prepared, complete, and ready for use. The role includes sterilizing equipment, preparing procedure-specific sets and case carts, maintaining inventory, and responding to urgent requests from surgical staff.

Requirements

• Hold a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification.
• At least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays, ensuring they are sterile, complete, labeled, and ready for use.
• Manage sterilization equipment and maintain accurate records supporting patient safety and infection prevention.
• Prepare customized surgical sets and case carts based on daily schedules and procedure needs.
• Manage inventory and supplies in operating room storage and specialty lockers, coordinating with the surgical team.
• Respond promptly to instrument requests during surgeries and help address urgent equipment needs.
