About The Position
As a Certified Sterile Processing Tech, you maintain the integrity of surgical instruments and equipment by ensuring they are properly inspected, assembled, and sterilized. You provide surgeons, nurses, and patients with safe, ready-to-use tools for surgical procedures, directly supporting patient safety and surgical success. The role is based at the Rochester campus and supports patient care across the healthcare system. This is a full-time afternoon position, 40 hours per week, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The posting offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus. Responsibilities
- Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Decontaminate soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.
- Correct instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets, and/or instrument tracking systems.
- Maintain proper inventory levels to ensure availability for case carts.
- Perform regular quality assurance program audits of peers.
