About The Position

As a Certified Sterile Processing Technician at Medical City McKinney, you will support patient safety and life-saving care by ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are clean, prepared, and ready for use. This is a full-time weekend-day shift role scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The position works with surgical staff to prepare instruments and supplies, support infection prevention, maintain sterilization records and equipment, and respond to urgent instrument needs during procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT).
• No experience required.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays, ensuring they are sterile, complete, labeled, and ready for use.
• Manage sterilization equipment and maintain accurate records to support patient safety and infection prevention.
• Prepare customized surgical sets and case carts based on daily schedules and procedure needs.
• Manage inventory and supplies in operating room storage and specialty lockers, coordinating with the surgical team.
• Respond quickly to instrument requests during surgeries and help resolve urgent equipment needs.
