About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses, providing care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT). This is a per-diem, as-needed position with weekday shifts at Select Specialty Hospital - Southeast Ohio in Newark, Ohio. Compensation is $32.00 per hour. The hospital offers a COTA orientation program and notes that strong performance could lead to potential full-time opportunities.
Requirements
- Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Monitor patients' responses to treatment and, in collaboration with an OT, modify treatment during sessions as indicated.
- Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
