About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Akron is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, helping provide compassionate care throughout recovery. This is a per diem, as-needed position in Akron, Ohio, paying $38.00 per hour. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the possibility of advancement to a full-time opportunity. Part-time and per diem employees may be eligible for 401(k) benefits after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as indicated, in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
