About The Position

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant needed for acute care in a skilled nursing facility setting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This travel temporary assignment starts on August 17, 2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours are 35 per week with a weekly pay range from $1,613 to $1,674. Shift is 5x8 days with a schedule of 08:00–16:30. The role supports residents in an SNF environment under standard acute care practices.

Requirements

Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in New Mexico or eligible for licensure.
Associate degree from an accredited OTA program.
Relevant experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility settings preferred.
Ability to work the listed shift schedule (7.5-hour daily blocks) and maintain 35 guaranteed hours.
Willingness to travel for the 13-week assignment and comply with assignment policies.

Responsibilities

Provide occupational therapy services to adult residents per the plan of care, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
Conduct and document patient progress, modify interventions as needed, and maintain accurate records in the charting system.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, PT, speech therapy, social work) to optimize discharge planning and care transitions.
Promote safety and independence in activities of daily living, including adaptive equipment and assistive devices as appropriate.
Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, activity strategies, and post-discharge plans.
