About The Position

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant needed for acute care in a skilled nursing facility setting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This travel temporary assignment starts on August 17, 2026 and runs for 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours are 35 per week with a weekly pay range from $1,613 to $1,674. Shift is 5x8 days with a schedule of 08:00–16:30. The role supports residents in an SNF environment under standard acute care practices.

Requirements

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in New Mexico or eligible for licensure.
  • Associate degree from an accredited OTA program.
  • Relevant experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility settings preferred.
  • Ability to work the listed shift schedule (7.5-hour daily blocks) and maintain 35 guaranteed hours.
  • Willingness to travel for the 13-week assignment and comply with assignment policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to adult residents per the plan of care, including assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Conduct and document patient progress, modify interventions as needed, and maintain accurate records in the charting system.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, PT, speech therapy, social work) to optimize discharge planning and care transitions.
  • Promote safety and independence in activities of daily living, including adaptive equipment and assistive devices as appropriate.
  • Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, activity strategies, and post-discharge plans.
