About The Position

FeldCare Connects is seeking a self-motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide home healthcare to patients of all ages in the San Diego area. This is an independent contractor position within FeldCare Connects’ app-based therapy network, which connects partner agencies with therapists and provides software and administrative resources to support patient care.

The assistant addresses patient care needs related to functional status, activities of daily living, fine motor coordination, home assessments, and adaptive equipment. Following the treatment plan based on the OT’s assessment and evaluation, the assistant performs interventions to improve the patient’s well-being and evaluates progress. Services are provided under applicable state laws and in coordination with other members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
• Ability and enthusiasm to work with patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Provide services within the scope of state laws governing Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, in accordance with the plan of care and in coordination with other members of the healthcare team.
• Help patients use therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities to improve functioning and safety.
• Observe, record, and report patients’ responses to treatment and changes in their conditions.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members in therapy activities in which they can participate to assist the patient.
• Carry out the OT’s treatment plan through interventions and evaluate patient progress.
