About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides compassionate care to patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses at Select Specialty Hospital - Daytona Beach. The role conducts individual therapy regimens under an Occupational Therapist's supervision, monitors and collaborates on patient responses and treatment adjustments, completes required documentation, and participates in continuing education activities. This is a per diem position with no weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as indicated in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
