About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Midtown Atlanta is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU care to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant treats patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The position is PRN/per diem/as needed, on weekdays only, in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, and pays $40.00 per hour.

The hospital offers an extensive orientation program to support the transition into the setting and notes that demonstrated skills and dedication could lead to potential full-time opportunities. Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as indicated, in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
