About The Position

QSAC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Occupational Therapist (OT) to work with children and young adults at our Whitestone Day School. The OT will be responsible for implementing treatment plans and IEP goals to enhance students' participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play. This role also involves providing education and training to Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required
  • Current New York State OT license to practice required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with people with autism highly preferred
  • One to three years’ experience working as an OT in a related setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP that the OT develops
  • Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect the student’s changing needs
  • Develop appropriate plans for the students being supported
  • Provide collaborative education and supervision services to promote best practices and professional growth to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Communicates and interacts with other team members, school personnel, and families
  • Develop and maintain a daily schedule, which includes sites, students/classrooms and other activities/duties
  • Maintain and records accurate records and documentation
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees
