About The Position

Lifepoint Rehabilitation, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide care at Kindred Hospital South FL- Coral Gables. This PRN, as-needed role contributes to the organization’s mission of making communities healthier. The COTA works with the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team, supports patients and their families or nursing staff with treatment follow-through, and maintains accurate records and a clean, safe treatment environment.

The position requires AOTA certification, graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an associate’s degree, a current and valid Florida OTA license, and current CPR certification. Requirements

• Certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an associate’s degree.
• Current and valid state OTA license in Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and enter post-treatment charges in patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable laws, and professional standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
