Free CNA Training Class
About The Position
Brownsburg Meadows offers a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program through ASC’s Nurse Aide Training Program. No previous experience is required; participants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes free classroom and hands-on training and takes place over two weeks, with 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of clinical training. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants may apply for a position at an American Senior Communities location in Indiana. The program also provides pathways to advance a nursing career.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the two-week training program, consisting of 30 classroom hours and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record resident vital signs and observations, including heart rate and blood pressure.
- Answer patient call lights and help fulfill residents’ requests.
- Build relationships with residents and provide companionship alongside care.
