About The Position
Meadow Lakes offers a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program for people who are committed to providing compassionate care to residents. No previous experience is required. The program includes free classroom and hands-on training and takes two weeks, with 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of clinical training. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants can pursue a position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana locations, with further opportunities to advance a nursing career. CNAs support resident care by helping with daily activities, meals, mobility, vital signs, call-light requests, and companionship. The program offers a free textbook, study materials, uniform, state testing, and one-on-one instructor time. Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the two-week Nurse Aide training program, comprising 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, brushing teeth, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and record observations.
- Answer resident call lights and help fulfill requests.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and provide companionship.
