Free CNA Training Class
About The Position
East Lake is offering a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program for people interested in beginning a career in compassionate care. No previous experience is required, but participants must be committed to caring for residents. The program includes free classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training, and takes place over two weeks, with 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of clinical training. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants may apply for CNA positions at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana locations. Additional nursing-career advancement pathways are available.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the two-week CNA training program, including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
- Help residents during mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and document observations.
- Answer resident call lights and help fulfill requests.
- Provide care and companionship while building meaningful relationships with residents.
