About The Position
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support patient care at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. In this role, you will provide direct patient care in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community living centers while working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The facility operates 24/7 with 8-hour shifts, and there are no on-call or scheduled overtime requirements. This is a full-time position offering consistent scheduling with multiple shift options, providing an opportunity to work in a leading federal healthcare system supporting Veterans with long-term contract stability and potential extensions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent CNA experience
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (any U.S. state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong clinical and patient care skills
- Ability to work in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Proficiency in communication and documentation
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must maintain current certifications and training requirements
- Must meet all VA health, immunization, and compliance standards
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and daily living assistance
- Monitor and report patient conditions to nursing staff
- Assist with implementing patient care plans
- Support patient, family, and care team communication
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
