About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for its Med/Surg and TCU Department. This full-time position works weekend nights in 12-hour shifts. Under the supervision of the Department of Nursing, the employee performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the patient care unit and serves as a central communication point at the nursing station, interacting with patients, visitors, staff, other departments, and physicians. The employee also assists staff nurses in treating and caring for patients in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The role requires knowledge of growth and development across the life span to assess information reflecting patient status and interpret appropriate information for age-specific needs.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Valid CNA license in the State of Indiana.
CPR.
Customer skills.
Basic computer skills.
Basic knowledge of patient care and basic ADLs.
Use of the Electronic Medical Record System (Cerner).
Patient confidentiality.
Teamwork.

Responsibilities

Perform receptionist and secretarial duties on the patient care unit.
Serve as the focal communication source in the nursing station while interacting with patients, visitors, staff, other departments, and physicians.
Assist staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Assess data reflecting patient status and interpret appropriate information to provide age-specific needs.
