Certified Nursing Assistant
About The Position
Mountain Valley is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide hospice homecare in the Mt. Airy and Dobson service areas. The role supports patients with advanced illness and their families through personal care, observation and reporting, emotional support, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The CNA is expected to uphold confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a rotating weekend schedule requiring work every sixth weekend. The position offers a fixed schedule with no evening or overnight shifts, a supportive collaborative team, ongoing training and professional development, and a competitive pay and benefits package.
Requirements
- Current CNA certification in North Carolina.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home visits.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, with respect and sensitivity.
- Monitor patients' conditions and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
- Offer emotional support and a comforting presence to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided and observations made.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement coordinated care plans.
- Maintain confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
