About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Milwaukee - West Allis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Certified Nursing Assistants provide compassionate patient care and support patients through recovery. This is a PRN/per diem position with 12-hour day shifts in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. An extensive orientation program is provided. The position may offer potential opportunities to move into full-time work. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting or active enrollment as an RN student.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
