About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Milwaukee - West Allis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Certified Nursing Assistants provide compassionate patient care and support patients through this recovery process. This is a per diem/PRN position working 12-hour day shifts. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for 401(k) benefits after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year. The role includes an extensive orientation program and may offer potential pathways to full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field, such as medical assistant work or active enrollment as an RN student.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services, including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
