About The Position

American Senior Communities (ASC) offers a free Nurse Aide Training Program for people interested in becoming Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). No prior experience is required; participants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes two weeks of training, with 30 hours of classroom instruction and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. ASC provides instructors and support from nurses and CNAs who have followed the same path. After completing the program and testing, participants can pursue positions at ASC communities across Indiana. Talent Acquisition Partners assist graduates with applying to positions. Additional nursing-career advancement pathways are available, including tuition and certification reimbursement, college and university partnerships, paid training, and career development.

Requirements

No previous experience is required for the training program.
Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
Complete two weeks of training, including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training.
Complete the CNA program and testing.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, brushing teeth, and shaving.
Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
Obtain and record resident vital signs, including heart rate and blood pressure, and record observations.
Answer resident call lights and assist with requests.
Build relationships with residents and provide companionship alongside care.
