About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the assigned Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant performs direct patient care activities to meet patients’ personal needs and provide comfort. Care must address the needs of patients from infancy through old age, as well as needs related to hearing or sight impairments, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential abuse. The role incorporates the organization’s commitment to patient rights, exceptional care, and its values and mission. Patient privacy and confidentiality must be maintained at all times. The position is in the Med/Surg 2B department at BMC South and is scheduled for 32 hours during the day, including every other weekend. It is part-time and benefit eligible.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license, or proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing school and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing I and II.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients.
Ability to prioritize multiple requests and provide timely patient care.
Compassion, empathy, and responsiveness to the needs of a variety of patients.
CPR.

Nice To Haves

Prior CNA experience.
Computer experience.
