About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant works in the Medical Surgical department at Ascension St. Vincent Randolph in Winchester, Indiana. The role assists with physician-ordered procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), supports patients with personal care and daily activities, and helps maintain a clean and safe patient environment. The schedule is PRN with rotating shifts.
Requirements
- Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Hold a Nurse Aide credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing before hire or job transfer.
- Have a high school diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience. Required professional licensure or certification may be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with procedures ordered by a physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Help patients with personal care, activities of daily living, and transfers or transportation.
- Report findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Help keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
- Monitor patient environments for safety hazards and emergency situations, and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
