About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant provides patient support on a medical/surgical unit. The role assists patients with activities of daily living and personal care, supports nursing staff in addressing individual patient considerations, monitors and documents patient status, and helps maintain patient comfort and safety. The schedule is 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. on weekdays and rotating weekends.
Requirements
- Active Kentucky Certified Nursing Assistant licensure.
- BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including serving meals, feeding patients as needed, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients, and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Assist nursing staff in identifying each patient's physical, psychosocial, age-specific, and cultural considerations.
- Work with nursing staff to provide personal care according to organizational standards and policies.
- Check vital signs and weight, test urine, and record intake and output information.
- Support patient comfort by using available resources and materials, transporting patients, answering call lights and requests, and reporting observations to the nursing supervisor.
- Complete forms, reports, logs, and records to document actions.
