About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant promotes residents’ dignity, independence, self-determination, privacy, choice, and rights within the community. The role provides personal care, assists with activities of daily living and medication reminders, supports residents’ social and spiritual pursuits, and monitors their physical and cognitive wellbeing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Patience and compassion when working with elderly people.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of paid or volunteer experience working with seniors is preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification may be required, depending on state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and medication reminders, in accordance with care plans and community policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with lifting, turning, transferring, positioning, and transporting into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
• Support dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including setup, cleanup, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documenting meal intake.
• Monitor residents’ physical and cognitive wellbeing and report changes to the nurse and supervisor.
• Deliver nutritional supplements at assigned times, assist residents as needed to ensure intake, and document intake according to community policy and procedure.
• Participate in life enrichment programming and provide meaningful activities to residents.
• Document resident care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and procedures, including updates.
