About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant delivers direct care to residents and patients in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and life-care standards at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. The role supports residents’ wellbeing, dignity, and independence by assisting with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, mobility, safety, and comfort. Duties also include helping with daily tasks, providing companionship, and observing and reporting changes in residents’ condition. Newly certified CNAs are welcome.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant certification course.
• Ability to read and communicate at an adequate level for essential job duties.
• Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
• Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
• Caregivers must complete new-hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility.
• Help with daily tasks such as using the telephone, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition and status.
• Conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents.
• Assist with dining, including escorting residents to the dining room, serving, and cleanup.
• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
