About The Position

Meadow Lakes offers a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program through ASC’s Nurse Aide Training Program. No previous experience is required; participants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training and can prepare participants to become a CNA in a few weeks. Training takes place over two weeks and includes 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Participants work with ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, graduates can apply for positions at ASC communities in Indiana. Additional pathways and opportunities are available for those who want to advance their nursing careers.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with bathing, dressing, and grooming, including hair care, brushing teeth, and shaving.
Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
Reposition and transfer residents, such as from a bed to a wheelchair or from a wheelchair to the toilet.
Obtain and record resident observations, including vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure.
Respond to patient call lights and assist with requests.
Build meaningful relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
