About The Position

This is a paid learning opportunity to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Thompson Health. The program offers a progressive approach where candidates are hired as Associates and gain paid job experience, eventually transitioning into a Certified Nursing Assistant role. The role involves assisting residents with daily living activities to maintain and improve their quality of life.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent or 4 years of relevant working experience.
• Must be willing to provide excellent care to residents.
• Must have strong communication & customer service skills.
• Apprentices must be team-oriented, dependable, and honest.
• Must have the ability to handle unpleasant sights and odors.
• Must maintain a positive attitude.
• Must be empathetic, compassionate & courteous to residents.
• Must remain employed with Thompson Health for at least one year from certification.

• Individuals are hired as Associates of Thompson Health!
• Daily assessments will be provided to advance the associate through the levels of apprenticeship: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in performing activities of daily living.
• Maintain and improve the resident’s quality of life to the highest functional level.
• Provide excellent care to residents.
• Handle unpleasant sights and odors.
• Commit to working every other weekend and holiday after obtaining certification.
