This position is responsible for providing licensed nursing services to residents, following the guidelines provided by Senior Lifestyle Corporation. This position reports to the Director of Nursing/Health and Wellness Director and may be required to supervise other staff positions. The role involves taking and recording vital signs, measuring and recording height and weight, recognizing and reporting abnormal changes in body functioning, assisting with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living. It also includes transferring, positioning, and turning residents, providing skin care, contributing to resident assessments and care plans, and caring for residents with dementia. The CNA will follow a schedule of resident needs, provide emotional and social support, and promote and protect resident rights, including informed decision-making, dignity, respect, and protection of personal belongings. They must report suspected abuse or neglect, avoid physical restraints, and support independent expression and choice. The role requires informing supervisors of resident issues or concerns, respecting resident independence, dignity, and confidentiality, and being familiar with emergency equipment, procedures, fire drills, and evacuation plans. Additionally, the CNA must attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings, strive to maintain a safe working environment, and perform other duties as assigned.
