Part-time CNA (Skilled Nursing)
About The Position
The Certified Nurses Aide works at Avalon Health Center at Stone Ridge, providing hands-on care and support to residents in a skilled nursing setting. The role includes assisting residents with activities of daily living, carrying out treatments and procedures as instructed, documenting care and observations, and helping maintain residents’ rooms. The position is part-time, with scheduling options of 16 hours per week on the second shift (3 p.m.–11 p.m.) or 8 hours per week on the third shift (11 p.m.–7 a.m.). The posting lists starting pay of $20.50–$24 per hour, plus shift and weekend differentials.
Requirements
- Successfully complete a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
- Be registered with the State of Connecticut registry.
- Understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Legibly track and document care provided to each resident.
- Submit work history or a resume with the application to be considered for an interview.
- Pass the pre-employment screening process, including a fitness-for-duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.

- Prior geriatric nursing aide experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
- Give treatments, perform tests, carry out procedures, and collect specimens as instructed.
- Report and record observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
- Transfer, transport, and escort residents as needed.
- Answer signal lights promptly.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and keep rooms clean and orderly.
